4th of July and Recipe for Disaster

What an event. Let's just say we don't tell my doctor about this weekend and i'll tell you all about it.
Our festivities started on Friday early morning and didn't end till lastnight.
Early friday morning about 5am  we made our way out of bed and over to the balloon fest in provo. The balloons were so fun to see most years we don't make it over, because we have to work and then the morning of the 4th we are on university either still asleep or holding our spot for the parade. This year with the forth being a Saturday and knowing we were not going to sleep out on the street we made it. Just brought along a chair for me and watched all the balloons air up and go up up and away.
After the balloons we made our way over to Cracker Barrel for breakfast with Bryan's family and Al and Steve and then traveled over to the Freedom Fest to checkout the booths. I didn't last to long looking at the booths, but it was still nice to participate in all the traditions. By Friday afternoon we both needed a long nap. We headed back to the Adams for some more festivities and went back to sleep around midnight to get some sleep to make it to the parade.  Saturday morning we had to be at the Adams at 6am to head to the parade, so we were off again. We found a great spot only to have it upgraded by the people in front of us who moved when they realized they didn't need all the room they had saved, it's a good thing we had chairs though.  After the parade we went home to make homemade icecream...well Bryan did and i took a nap and my meds, we then had a family BBQ with Bryan's family and then one with mine and then it was time for the "Tank Wars of 2009" at the Adams house....  Recipe for Disaster... For the past couple of years Bryan and his dad and brother in-laws and now some friends had initiated a tank war with firework tanks and whatever else they can get to blow up in the little circle of death. This year was a success as you can tell from the pictures above. The best part of all is when the light off the tanks and of corse the can't get all of them without burning themselves, so they have to go back in and light more not knowing if anything else in the circle has been lit by the other tanks...which can cause disaster. I am happy to say other than a few burnt fingers mostly from lighters there were no casualties this year. All the guys had a great time and all confirmed that this years Tank War was the best to date. All of us girls have fun pointing and laughing from a short distance at our "little boys" in grown men bodies. Something about fire and things that go boom!     Afterwards we enjoyed some fireworks and headed off to bed. What a great way to end the holiday. I am definitely so tired and will most likely sleep this whole week to recover!
